What BookmarkOS collects

BookmarkOS is a Chrome extension. By default, all bookmark data (text, summaries, embeddings, tags) is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. Nothing leaves your device unless you explicitly use features that require server processing.

Data sent to our servers

When BookmarkOS processes a bookmark, the text content of that bookmark is sent to our API server (api.bookmarkos.app) for:

We do not store the raw text of your bookmarks on our servers. Text is processed in-memory and discarded after the AI response is returned.

Cloud sync (Pro, opt-in)

Pro users can optionally enable cloud sync. When enabled, bookmark metadata (summaries, tags, embeddings, URLs) is stored encrypted in our Cloudflare D1 database. You can delete your synced data at any time from the extension settings.

Account data

If you register (required for Pro features), we store your email address, license key, and API tokens. We use your email solely for account management and optional digest emails. We never sell or share your email with third parties.

Payments

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store credit card numbers or payment details. See Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy.

Analytics

We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking scripts on our website or extension. No cookies are set for tracking purposes.
